Dalliance is run by a unique collaboration of artist-producers. Under the general leadership of the Artistic Director and Producing Director, the Artistic Associates of Dalliance conceive, create and carry out all of our work in collaboration with our Company Members and Guest Artists.

Andy Ottoson
Andy Ottoson
Artistic Director
Andy Ottoson is the Founding Artistic Director of Dalliance Theater, where he has directed the world premieres of Refractions, Because of the Economy, Blind Love and Small Talk as well as writing #8 in Who is Jordan Bishop and his own adaptation of Strindberg's A Dream Play. He has directed theater and opera around New York and the tri-state area, most recently directing a double-bill of Leoncavallo's Pagliacci and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi for Connecticut Lyric Opera. He has assisted directors including Joe Dowling, Sharon Ott (SDC Observer), Stafford Arima, Richard Jay Alexander, Harold Scott and Steven Woolf. He has worked across the country, including the Guthrie Theater, Primary Stages, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Summer Play Festival/ Public Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Dallas Opera, Atlanta Opera, Tulsa Opera, Nashville Opera and others. He is a Graduate of the Webster Conservatory, a member of AEA and AGMA, a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors' Lab and an Associate Member of SDC.

 

Branden Huldeen

Branden Huldeen is a double graduate of NYU where he was the Associate Production Manager and worked on over 50 productions. He is currently the New Works Director for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre and the Artistic Director of that organization's Festival of New Musicals. In addition to his production work for Dalliance, he also directed In The Cards, part of Who is Jordan Bishop, as well as contributing writing and directing to Because of the Economy.... From 2001 until 2008, Branden was part of the New Plays for Young Audiences Series at NYU in various positions, including producer of 2008 season. In the fall of 2006, he was the Associate Producer of Kingdom (Audience Favorite Award) at NYMF. In 2007, Branden was the Line Producer for Ian August's Missing Celia Rose for the Summer Play Festival at the Beckett Theatre, and Associate Producer and General Manager for Maccabeat! The Hanukkah Musical at NYMF at the Acorn Theatre. In 2009, he was the Line Producer for Alena Smith's The Sacrifices for SPF at the Public Theater, directed by Sam Gold.
He was recently the Education Associate at Theatre Development Fund, Associate Editor of "Play by Play Theatre Magazine", and House Manager at the Vineyard Theatre. He is also a graduate of the Commercial Theatre Institute's 3-day program. He received a B.S. in Educational Theatre and a M.A. in Performing Arts Administration (Kurtz Scholarship Award Recipient for Excellence in Performing Arts Administration), both from New York University.

 

Scott Brown

Scott Rad Brown  is a Brooklyn based actor, director, and writer. With Dalliance, he was co-line producer for Who is Jordan Bishop?, for which he also wrote Pierced. Scott also worked on production for A Dream Play and co-wrote/directed Because of the Economy... He holds a BFA from the Webster Conservatory, where he conceived and directed The Delta Cycle. Other directing credits include Springtime by Maria Irene Fornes and Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin. Scott Rad has appeared off-Off-Broadway as a performer in Cato at The Flea Theater with André DeShields, Armor of the Wills with The Beggars Group, Jeff Lewonczyk's His First Detention with Evil Eye Productions, and Love and Other Stories at The 78th St. Theatre Lab. He has been seen regionally at GEVA Theatre Center, The Broward Stage Door Theater, and Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater as both a performer and a dialect coach. Some of his favorite roles have been The Sergeant of Police in The Pirates of Penzance, Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown, and Sir Feeble Fainwood in The Lucky Chance. Emily Firth

Emily Firth hails from Portland, OR, and received her BFA with departmental honors from the Webster Conservatory.  At Dalliance she was co-line producer for Who is Jordan Bishop?, for which she also directed #8. In addition, she directed Violations and appeared as Danielle in Small Talk. She was last seen in 'Twas the Night Before at the FleaTheater as a resident company “Bat” member, and was a proud member of the Timber Lake Playhouse for the summer of 2005.  Favorite roles include Esmerelda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Witch in Into the Woods, and Lady Fulbank in The Lucky Chance.

 

Mallory Hawks

Mallory Hawks has appeared with Dalliance in Who Is Jordan Bishop, Refractins, Because of the Economy..., and A Dream Play. Since graduating from Webster Conservatory with a BFA in Musical Theater, she has performed in several workshops and demo recordings of new works here in NYC. She was seen in the National Tour and Off-Broadway production of Seussical! directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. Some of her favorite roles include Judy/Ginger in Ruthless! The Musical, Smitty in How to Succeed..., Essie in You Can't Take It With You and Jo in Little Women: The Musical. She also had the pleasure of catching a frozen turkey over and over again for a recent Food Lion commercial. Proud member of AEA.

 

Michael Hammack

Michael Morrow Hammack has appeared in A Dream Play at Dalliance. He is a native of Portland, Oregon and holds a B.F.A in Musical Theatre from the Webster Conservatory.  Favorite roles include Monty in Violet, Gayman in The Lucky Chance, Baker in Into the Woods, and Peter in TheatreworksUSA’s production of The Lion, the With and the Wardrobe.   Michael is a proud member of Actors’ Equity.

 

Jenn Hopkins

Jennifer J. Hopkins has been onstage at Dalliance in Refractions and Violations, in addition to choreographing A Dream Play. A native Nebraskan, Jennifer received her BFA in Musical Theatre from the Webster Conservatory before moving to New York. Since that time she has performed and directed for TSI/Playtime’s Noel Coward Festival, died repeatedly in the tri-state area with Mostly Murder Company, guest instructed at Broadway Dance Center, and joined NYC based Handcart Dance Company. Jennifer was also seen at The Flea as a Guest Artist with Nina Winthrop and Dancers, fortune telling on stage in the premiere of Eggs for NYU’s New Plays for Young Audiences annual event, and starred in Dark Land of the Sun at Manhattan Repertory’s ‘Summerfest’ series. During the summer she was honored to teach Shakespeare and musical theater dance to students in France at the first annual Acting Abroad Summer Intensive. She then made her touring debut with Boston-based Chamber Theatre Productions. Jennifer was recently accepted to the Academy for Classical Acting program in Washington DC. This collaborative graduate degree through George Washington University and The Shakespeare Theatre Company will earn her an MFA in Classical Acting in July 2010.

Jessica Palmer has appeared in Who Is Jordan Bishop and Because of the Economy... with Dalliance.   She has worked regionally with Springfield Little Theatre, Vandivort Centre Theatre, Silver Dollar City, and Nixa Theatre.  Credits include:  Ela/Gloria/Cindy in String of Pearls, Emily Webb in Our Town, Winnie Winslow in No, No Nanette, Peter Pan in Peter Pan, Hilda in Night of the Iguana, as well as various roles in the Wisewrite Festival in cooperation with The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.  In NYC she recently played the role of Nancy Malone in The Storm Theatre’s production of The Shaughraun...

Chelsea Jo Pattison has appeard at Dalliance in Who Is Jordan Bishop and Because of the Economy...In addition, she appeared int he national tour of Stephen Schwartz's Captain Louie. Favorite New York and Regional roles: Eppie in Silas, Sally in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Little Red in Into the Woods, Peter in Peter Pan. Chelsea is a graduate of the Webster Conservatory and a proud member of AEA

 

Gretchen Porro

Gretchen Porro is excited to be a part of Dalliance Theater, where she has played a variety of characters in Because of the Economy..., as well as Tabatha in Blind Love. Other favorite roles include Betty Paris in The Crucible at the Repertory Theater of St. Louis and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Sheila in The Boys Next Door, for which she won best supporting actress in the State of Florida, and Sissy in A Piece of my Heart at Webster University. She has also performed internationally at the Fringe Festival in Scotland and is an honorable mention winner for the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.

Alisha Soper originally hails from Seattle, Washington and is a proud graduate of the Webster Conservatory, where she received her BFA in Acting. Since moving to New York she has appeared in a number of Off Off Broadway shows including Dalliance's productions of Who Is Jordan Bishop, Refractions, Because of the Economy..., Love No Evil and A Dream Play. She has also worked on many independent films and student films and has appeared on "As the World Turns." Her favorite roles include Mowbray in Richard II, Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Mary Brenham in Our Country's Good, and Jenny in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

Victoria Watson has appeared at Dalliance in Who Is Jordan Bishop, Because of the Economy..., and A Drema Play. She is a 2006 graduate of the Webster Conservatory.  Favorite parts at Webster include Lisa in A New Brain, the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods and Gabby in Our Country's Good.  She was a resident company member at the Northern Lights Playhouse this past summer, where she played Bombalourina in Cats, Margot in Dial “M” for Murder and many others.  Tori has also worked extensively at the Timber Lake Playhouse, including playing Emma Goldman in Ragtime
